Borrow

Roddenbery Memorial Library is part of the PINES Library system run by the Georgia Library Service.

PINES library cards are available to all ages! If you live, go to school, or own property in Georgia, you can apply to receive a FREE PINES card. Minors must have their parent or guardian present to register. PINES cards will work at hundreds of libraries throughout Georgia, allowing users to check out items from one library and return them to any other.

Item I want isn't available. What do I do?

If an item you would like to borrow isn't available, you can place a 'Hold' on it from another library and they will send it to RML for you. When it arrives at RML, you will receive a email, text message, or phone call. There is no charge for this service. See the video below for a step by step tutorial.

BOOKS

The Roddenbery Memorial Library holds over 35,000 print and audio books, from beginning to advanced readers, including many Spanish language titles.

RML is a PINES library and shares books with most of the public libraries in Georgia. If there is a book that you would like that the library doesn't have, let us know, and we will borrow it from another library. Just ask a staff member about putting a book on 'hold'.

Patrons can request their own 'holds' by accessing their online account here.

MAGAZINES

RML offers a variety of childrens, teens, and adult periodicals that may be viewed or borrowed from the library.

Magazines may be checked out for 2 weeks and renewed twice.

Wi-Fi HOT SPOTS

Wi-Fi hotspots may be borrowed by RML patrons ages 18 and above with library cards in good standing.

Wi-Fi hotspots are available at the Circulation Desk on a first-come, first-served basis. They may not be reserved. At the time of check-out, a patron must complete an Electronic Device Agreement.

GOOGLE CHROMEBOOKS

RML patrons over the age of 18 may now borrow a Google Chromebook.

Extended checkout times available for students of all ages.

CAKE PANS

Thanks to a generous donation by Cairo's local VFW #8933 Jr. Vice Commander, Nova Maul, the Roddenbery Memorial Library is delighted to be able to offer cake pans to check out!

Patrons can check out up to 2 pans for 7 days with no renewals and must return the pans washed and in their hanging bags to avoid a cleaning fee of $1.00.

PUPPETS

Patrons over 18 may borrow puppets, which checkout for 2 weeks and may be renewed twice.

Auditorium, and Grady Room,

The Wessie Connell Memorial Auditorium and the Grady Room may reserved for private or public functions. For current prices and availability, please contact the Circulation Desk

PARK PASSES

Patrons over 18 with cards in good standing may borrow any of the following Park Passes. For more information on each pass, click the link on the image or contact the library.

UKULELES

The library has 2 ukuleles which may be checked out to RML patrons over 18 with accounts in good standing.

Each ukulele kit comes with a ukulele, a tuner, and basic instructions.

Ukuleles checkout for 2 weeks and may be renewed twice. A $10.00 refundable deposit is required.

PUZZLE EXCHANGE

* No Card Required *

Thanks to donations by several community members, the library is delighted to offer puzzles to take and share. Library card not required.

PROJECTORS AND SCREENS

RML patrons over 18 with library cards in good standing may borrow a projector or projector screen. These items checkout for 3 days and require a $10.00 non-refundable deposit each.
